Being working in the marketing field of Bangladesh for 14 years, we have extensively experienced amazing diverse brand marketing accomplishments. The marketing activities are different from industry to industry. Working experience in multinational corporations is completely different than working in a local company. Some organizations follow a well-structured environment for decision making, on the other hand, some follow the traditional “Boss knows everything” structure; means no structure at all.
For the past ten years in the era of social media, there has been great enthusiasm for working in “Brand Marketing”
among the business school students of Bangladesh. Many professionals want to start their careers in the “Brand Marketing” field. There are vast amounts of resources available on the internet about the topic of brand management, marketing management, social media marketing, and others. But, most of them are theoretical. And also, those are fit for the global arena. We found that almost all the students have good theoretical knowledge but they have zero clues about how the brand management activities are being conducted in the practical world. They don’t have any practical knowledge of the technique of brand management, how a brand team works? How digital marketing activities are being conducted in real corporate organizations? – The newcomers are struggling continuously for the lacking of this applied knowledge. It’s very difficult to find materials for applied brand management. There are many youtube videos on those activities. But, those are very much vague or can’t be applied to the perspective of our country. This book gives answers to most of the technical and practical queries of brand management activities. The business school students and marketing professionals will get a clear answer to the burning question- How should I do this? What should I do to work in a brand management team of any business organization? The topics we have written, are the reflection of 14 years experience of in diverse industries. We want to express our utmost regards to our colleagues, who encouraged us to write on this topic. We hope the young marketing professionals will apply this knowledge to their working area. We also encourage them to write more on these topics to encourage our future generations. Last but not least Branding Simplified is a compilation of various articles we have written about branding throughout the years. Of course, some new things had to be written to complete the book, also in some cases, we had to discuss things into the broader context of Marketing rather than limiting ourselves on Branding only which we hope readers will find useful and contextual. Throughout our corporate consultancy and academic careers, we have always sought to inspire young people to work on the branding of local companies.
